Why have I been quiet so much lately? Part of it has been exhaustion - I've been doing a lot, and haven't taken the time required to update this blog. Part has been frustration and stress. As a case in point, when I took over TO responsibilities at the Alamo, I decided two things needed to be done: I needed a piece of mysterious terrain to go on every table, and I needed a building to go on every table for one scenario. The Alamo has 38 tables. From the end of Bayou battles until the Alamo, I designed, built, and painted 76 pieces of terrain. Some of them got documented, so I'll share them here!

Texas War Games Con 2014: Armies on Parade
A selection of Warhammer Fantasy, and Warhammer 40k armies that were set up Sunday morning at Texas War Games Con. Very limited commentary, as I was focusing more on taking pictures and less on taking notes.

Darklands Battle Report: Angelcynn vs. Fomoraic (499 gold)
Mierce Miniatures is currently doing their third Kickstarter, to fund and flesh out the rules for Darklands. To date, there haven't really been a lot of battle reports showing how the game works, and whether or not it's fun! This the first of a couple of battles I hope to do over the next few weeks, showing off a few of the models Mierce produces, giving a bit of background into the world they're playing in (which isn't that far off from our own), and highlighting some of the rule differences between this game and others that are currently out there. Today, it'll be the Angelcynn, the skindancing Angles, versus the monstrous beasts of the Fomoraic Sea Devils!
More skirmish combat and definite shrinkage, after the jump.

Balancing the scales in the Darklands
In this post, I take lots and lots of models from Mierce Miniatures, and take pictures of them side-by-side with Games Workshop, Reaper, and Rackham stuff. The goal: see just how amazing Mierce Miniatures truly are!
The picture above has sat here teasing what's about to come for about a week; I'm glad to finally show it off! That poor, diminutive Space Marine has no idea what's in store for him...
One of the most popular posts I've ever done on here was the one where I showed all the Mierce models I had assembled standing next to other things. Well, since that time Mierce has run another Kickstarter, and I've assembled a whole heck of a lot more models! How many more? Well, the overflow went off my paint desk, and I had to use a 6' gaming table to hold them all!
If you want to see how big these beasties are, just follow the jump!
